2008 ABRA EVENT DATE APPLICATION
To secure a race date on the Arizona Bicycle Racing Association (ABRA) Racing Calendar, this application must be completed and submitted to the ABRA administrator with a $100 date security deposit*. Applications received prior the annual planning meeting will be reviewed at the meeting. Applications received after the planning meeting will be reviewed by the ABRA administrator and the ABRA board. You will then be notified of your scheduled race date(s). Every effort will be made to accommodate the date(s) requested. Please note, this form is to secure a race date only. A minimum of nine (9) weeks prior to your event date, the USCF (on line) Competitive Event Permit Application and other USCF required materials must be submitted to the USCF.

E. ARIZONA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RACES
To be considered for a State Championship Race, the following requirements must be met:
 a) Application for a State Championship Race submitted by November 1 of the preceding year.
 b) Have held a race on the proposed course during the preceding year or receive ABRA approval.
 c) Have coordinated and held a minimum of two race events in the past 5 years.
 d) Course reviewed by the ABRA administratore and approved by the ABRA board.
 e) Medals provided to the top 3 places in each category outlined in the current USCF rulebook.
 f) A $200 deposit* will be required to request a State Championship race in Arizona.
 g) Time Trials must be a minimum of 20K. Criteriums and cyclocross events must be a minimum of 30 minutes per category. Road Races must be a minimum of 30 miles per category. These requirements may be reduced by 30% for Junior categories. A circuit race may be considered for the State Road Race.

*Deposits will be refunded in full when the race is completed, the race paperwork and fees have been sent to USA Cycling, and results submitted to the ABRA Administrator within three (3) weeks of the race date. If the promoting team chooses not to hold their race after completing this application, their deposit will not be refunded. If a race is not held due to circumstances beyond the promoting club's control (i.e., city will not grant a permit, fire restrictions, etc.), the club must provide an explanation for the cancellation of the race written by the agency/group that denied the race application (i.e. the city, the Forest Service, etc.) to the ABRA Board before a refund can be processed.

NOTE: If your ABRA dues have not been paid for the year this event will be held, the dues will need to be submitted with this application. If requesting a State Championship event, you must have been an ABRA member for a minimum of one year prior to the year this event will be held, or pay the equivalent in ABRA dues.
